Is this compatible with the learning thermostat? I do know it is a 2 stage system.

Looks like a Rheem Econet thermostat. E1 and E2 are a (proprietary) serial communication bus, talking to a controller in the furnace. Not going to work with a Nest (or another smart thermostat for that matter).

@txredbird59, to determine your system's compatibility with the Nest Thermostats. Could you also share with us a photo of your system's control panel showing how the wires from your thermostat are labeled? Also, what's the make and model of your HVAC system?
