Compatability question

I had a new heat pump installed and when they put the system in the removed my Nest Learning Thermostat Model a0013, they installed a Honeywell Vision Pro 8000. From all I can see these two units should be interchangeable, am I correct?

Is this a first-time installation for your Nest Learning Thermostat? Also, it depends on the wiring configuration of your HVAC system. Even when switching thermostat brands, the wire configuration is usually the same.
