What is meant by size in nest app?

In the 3rd gen app, what is meant by size when telling the app about my house. Does it look for the ground floor sq ft/mtr, or a combination of sq ft/m of each floor?

It's the question in the home info - about screen where it where I have completed, type, number of thermostats and construction . The next piece of information it requires is size in sq ft / MTRS. Is the the size of the floor area at ground level or total sq footage of living area that is totaling both habitable floors.
