Emerson W/E Compatibility with Nest Thermostat

Hi,

I have an Emerson model 1F85U-42PR that has a W/E wire not listed on Google nest compatibility checker. I noticed my wiring looks a little different than other posts on the forum. I attached pictures of the wiring and the HVAC systems. Is this thermostat compatible? Where does the W/E wire connect on the nest?

The HVAC has an outdoor heat pump: Carrier model 25HBC524A300. The picture won't load on the post for whatever reason.

W/E should go to W2/Aux on the nest. You also need a c wire.

@MSands1, your system is compatible with Nest Thermostats. You can follow the same wiring setup as your current thermostat has. Please make sure to configure it properly during the setup according to their terminals. You can also check your system’s compatibility before purchasing a Nest Thermostat with our online Compatibility Checker.

Hi MSands1,

If your heat pump has emergency heating, the wire should go to the *star terminal, which would work for the Nest Learning Thermostat in your case. If you don't have one but instead have a separate heating system, such as a furnace, the wire would go to the W or W1 terminal for heating. I am trying to figure out if my heat pump has emergency heating or not. Going though the old thermostat settings for an answer.
