Need help. I just replaced my Ecobee with Nest 3rd Gen Learning Thermostat. We use Oil for heat and have a Heat Pump (as shown in pics below). And when I look at settings on Nest I only see Forced Air and no Heat Pump. Will that be an issue ? I also posted my current Ecobee connections and what I connected those on to my Nest thermostat. In other forums I see that for Heat Pump you need to have an orange wire connected to O/B. I don’t see that connected either on my Ecobee or Nest.

On my heat pump I see 2 orange wires but they are not connected anywhere. Is that ok or should I have one of that extended and connected to this O/B ? Or should I leave as-is?

EcobeeNest ConnectionsHeatPumpHeatPump WiringNest Settings1Nest Settings2

Hi voken,

Thanks for posting and for the photos.

A few questions: were you able to finish the setup? If so, what happens when you call for cooling and heating? Do they work as intended?

Best,
