Nest Thermostat (mirrored) is still stuck on step-up screen after batteries replaced

Followed step found here https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9297705?hl=en to restart Nest Thermostat. Batteries have been remove and replaced and then reattached the display to the base. Still the thermostat is frozen on the "step up" screen. What can I do next? Is there another manual restart option for the mirrored nest thermostat?

I'm sorry for the delay and trouble. What type of Nest thermostat do you have? When and where did you purchase your thermostat? Also, what country are you located in?
