Thermostat is 4 to 5ﾟ off

I have the thermostat set at 71ﾟ and it's maintaining 66 in the house. I can't find anything in the thermostat that will let me recalibrate the sensor. Can you adjust the calibration of these thermostats?

Thanks for reaching out — we'd love to help you. Restarting the Nest Thermostat can help to re-calibrate its sensor. Visit the settings of your thermostat then select Restart to do it. Also, you can check this out for more options.

Thanks Jenelyn. I tried this after I posted this. I has helped some but it still seems to be 1 - 2° off. Better than it was.

Hey Junkstat,

Great, thanks for letting us know. It might take some time to re-calibrate its sensor.

If the issue persists, you can try to update its software, but it depends on what Nest Thermostat you have. You can check the steps below:

Nest Thermostat - Go to settings, then look for the word "Version" then select update.
Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E - Go to settings, then look for the word "Software" then select update.

I had to restart/reboot the thermostat. It appears to be back to normal. It seems they get a brain fart like all the other electronics you get today and have to be rebooted once in a while.
