Nest thermostat reconnect

I cannot remember my 3rd generation learning thermostat Wi-Fi password and the “forgot password” emails are not reaching me.
Would trashing the technicalinfo.PLIST file on a laptop allow me to create a Wi-Fi password on the thermostat again?

To clarify, are you having issues connecting your thermostat to your Wi-Fi because you forgot its password? If so, you can contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to get your Wi-Fi password so you can reconnect it manually without having it reset. I ended up trying every password I ever used in the last 10 years until I finally got one. It shouldn’t be this time consuming!

Hey there,

Thanks for clarifying, Snek. It's best to contact your ISP first to access your router settings and retrieve your Wi-Fi password if you don't have any knowledge of accessing it. Once the password is ready, try reconnecting your thermostat back to your Wi-Fi network.
