Nest bug recently introduced - week of dec-12

I read that some people are experiencing strange behavior with their nest . Me too. It also started a week or so ago. There was a message on my app asking to join some auto scheduling. Being energy conscious I said yes without thinking twice. Since then nest is going into eco mode when IT wants to! I have turned auto schedule off but nest is not listening to me. I say a bug was introduced.

Having the same issue. I just want a constant temp and it won’t do that. I turned all eco and scheduled off!

OMG! I thought it was just me! Our thermostat flashed a message about Nest Renew. I had no clue what that was & I want to control my thermostat with no interference from a program. I tried to bypass it, but it didn't skip- it instead signed us up for this crap. I finally found a phone number & called to tell them to cancel it on 12/8. The rep was from another country & hard to understand. She noted my request, but nothing was cancelled. WE have tried repeatedly to cancel this, but no success, even though we get confirmation it's cancelled. The thermostat does what IT wants, NOT what I want! Google has botched this royally & we are suffering. Now I can't even find a phone number to call them! So I send messages that are ignored. Don't even get me started on how they have botched those of us with Nest Cameras from before Google. WE have lost so much of the functionality & it's been excuses for over a year!

This is what happens when AI meets the real world. Want a driverless car? Good luck when AI can’t even do a simple thing like control a thermostat. Hopefully I’ll have checked out when driverless cars are everywhere.

So I got an email from the daemon asking if I got an answer to the issue. I replied to it and it bounced. Bring people back! Down with the bots!
and my issue is not resolved. Will it ever be when bots are running google???

We never requested nest renew, yet it took over our thermostats over a month ago. I called & have sent many requests to get this OFF our thermostats. We also cancelled it online for BOTH homes we own, with automated confirmations of the cancellations. But over a month later our thermostats are STILL being controlled & our settings over-ridden. The interface stinks & there should be a class action lawsuit about what your inappropriate coding has caused! GET US OUT OF YOUR PROGRAM! We want to control our own thermostats!
