What is Pre cooling?

Tonight I set the temperature down on the app to 70. It said it was 73 in the house. It said precooling— what does that mean? I’ve never seen that on the thermostat before. But also this is the first time we’ve used the ac since we got it. It’s always been on heat since it’s winter time.
