I am trying to connect nest to thermostat, but it says error and it won't connect.

Sorry to hear about your disconnected Nest! I can get the frustration behind losing WiFi. Let's see what's going on here together.

Can you please provide me with a couple of details?

Are you receiving a specific error code on your display?
Which troubleshooting steps have you tried, but to no avail?
