Am I correct that hot water baseboard heating should be considered as radiator when setting up? The only options are forced air, in floor radiant or radiator. Seems radiator must be the only option, but it’s confusing because I see arguments that baseboards are not technically radiators.

I just set up my Nest thermostats last night and had the same question. I ended up choosing in floor radiant and it seems to be working just fine.

Thanks for reaching out to us here @Blmusicgeek . I would be happy to try and assist. Yes, in this case the best option to select would be a radiator, as this is the closest equivalent. However, like @DS88 mentioned, thank you for the input, much appreciated, you can use the floor option as well. Both these options are water based solutions so both will work. When setting the thermostat up the more important options, that have a greater influence on the options and settings for the system are the type, such as system or combi as well as the type of control, on/off or OpenTherm, as these will then allow you to access different options while setting up.
