How do you turn on the air conditioner? My nest only has heat and off?

Set the "MODE" to cooling.

In app, lower left has Mode icon of 4 wavy lines. Tap it.

This can be a configuration problem when the thermostat was set up. Post a picture of the Nest backplate showing the wires connected. Also, wake up the thermostat and go into setting, then equipment. Post a picture of that screen showing what wires the thermostat can see.
