Nest Thermostat - Smart Programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat

I bought the above Nest Thermostat and have it running. It is running fine - except when I want to change the schedule (e.g. heating schedule). The thermostat is a new version that does not work with Nest app and it requires Google Home app. After I changed the time to start the heating and press "done" on the app, the Home app got stuck in an infinite loop (the swirl that showed ongoing status kept going forever). I have to kill the app to get out. I restarted the app and did noticed that the schedule got changed. I still have to verify that the thermostat actually got changed.

If you are having issues with the Google Home app when trying to change the schedule for your Nest Thermostat, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check if there are any updates available for the Google Home app. Sometimes, updating the app to the latest version can resolve issues with it getting stuck in an infinite loop.
Restart your Nest Thermostat. You can do this by going to the "Settings" menu on the thermostat and selecting "Restart". This can sometimes resolve communication issues between the thermostat and the Google Home app.
Reset your Nest Thermostat to factory settings. This should only be done as a last resort, as it will erase all settings and data from the thermostat. To do this, go to the "Settings" menu on the thermostat, select "Reset", and then choose "Factory Reset".
Contact Nest support or Google support for assistance. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you can reach out to Nest or Google for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or escalate the issue to their engineering team for further investigation.

Once you have resolved the issue with the Google Home app, you should verify that the schedule changes have been applied to your Nest Thermostat. My google home app is up to date. I tried using an Android phone. It has no problem. My conclusion is that the google home app has problems with the nest thermostat on iPhone and iPad. Google home works with my other devices at home.

By the way, the schedule did change - even though I have to kill the app to get out of it.

It got set up with an android phone already. You know any changes to google home apps for Apple iOS - that would make it work?

@WoofWoof, I'm glad to hear that you were able to successfully add your Nest Thermostat on your Android phone. To get access with your iOS device, login with the same email associated with your thermostat so it will show automatically on the homepage. Also, make sure that the app permission is allowed in your phone's settings.
