Nest Heating Notification

Received an alert from google stating that my home failed to heat while my thermostat was on. It named a couple of potential reasons why....one of them was that possibly there were windows opened. I closed all windows....would it have started again on its own? I turned it off and turned it back on to heat last night but it is still indication the same temperature and that it would take 2 1/2 hrs to heat up. Is it an issue of the temperature leveling itself back up now that the windows are closed? I turned it back on this morning and it is still reading the same temp. Any suggestions?
