Hi drayton,

I understand. But it appears to be a manual from your thermostat, and the Nest Thermostats don't support high-voltage systems, which might lead to an overcurrent. To be sure, could you please tell us the make and model of your HVAC system?

Regards,

Hi drayton,

Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. I’d love to help.

Your system has a 120 VAC that is considered as a high voltage system, which isn't compatible with the Nest Thermostats. In some cases, it is possible to make a high voltage system Nest-compatible. Contact a local HVAC professional and have them install a step down transformer to 20 - 30 V.

You can check this support article for more information.

Best,

Yes, my thermostat again I have a VT 1000 talking thermostat, from smart way solutions Inc. I don’t know if somehow you can look that model up and look at my wiring and shift and assist further for you but looking on the user guide as a 24 VAC on there I think the white thing I’ll see you in one of the pictures this posted might be a relay ????. I tried to post a picture of the user guide, showing the wiring diagram. Have a problem trying to do that. I have a gas heat electric AC for wires with the red jumper wire. I think again if you could look up the VT 1000 or lighter units 2000 3000 might help you solve my problem. Just want to make sure I can use the nest learning thermostat if possible. Any help would be great for me appreciate thank you

Hi drayton,

I understand. But it appears to be a manual from your thermostat, and the Nest Thermostats don't support high-voltage systems, which might lead to an overcurrent. To be sure, could you please tell us the make and model of your HVAC system?

Regards,

Mark

Hello drayton,

It’s me again. I know it’s been a while, and I’m sorry for the delayed response.

Since we don’t support high voltage systems, we highly recommend you contact a local HVAC professional and have them install a step down transformer to 20 - 30 V so your system can work with our Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation.

Thanks for your help, Mark.

Best,

Zoe
