How do you have the Google Nest Thermostat wired?

Does it have a C wire?

If it doesn't, then that's probably the problem. The thermostat will shut off the Wifi if it doesn't have enough power to operate.

I have been using this Nest for about 3 months now - it's worked perfectly connecting to Wifi. Now, my Wifi name is showing up and it won't connect. The Wi-Fi works perfectly on all other devices. Have restarted the router and the Nest - nothing is working. What do I do? Thank you

The Nest Learning Thermostat Wi-Fi connections is 802.11b/g/n @ 2.4GHz, 5GHz. If your network has the option of 2.4 and 5 GHz I would recommend to use the 2.4 because it has a longer range.

Thank you - the Nest is very close to the router and hasn't had any problems (whatsoever) for the past 3 months with the Wi-Fi (nothing has changed). Should I still try this?

What I would do is create and reserved IP address on the LAN for the Nest Thermostat. Just get the MAC address from the nest thermostat, log into your router and create the reserved IP address for it. You might need to adjust your DHCP address pool to start at a higher host say change it by 10 hosts. Then there will not be a conflict since will assign one of the address not part of the DHCP pool.

The AC Cooling Wizard

Is it possible that i do need to charge it even though i have a c wire? Did my thermostat go bad? Any thoughts?

if you check on your thermostat technical data, you can see what the power level is on your thermostat. Another thing you can do you can run what they call a power test to see but that’s normally done during the initial installation. I don’t know how to get to it after that. But I use my thermostat and I go and I check the battery level and the voltage and the line current and the amperage. As stated before anything less than 3.8 causes the nest to start turning things off that it doesn’t need such as Wi-Fi and BLE.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. The Nest Thermostats has a special router setting that needs to be enabled. It's also most likely that an unknown variable in your network environment is causing the issue. Please check these recommended router settings: You can contact your ISP provider if you're not familiar with these.

Quality of Service (QoS) settings

Device priority

Parental controls

Wi-Fi pause

Interference and attenuation

I appreciate your help, @CoolingWizard and @Patrick_Caezza.
