The 2nd generation Nest thermostat does not control the hot water. I recommend to ask a local installer or a Nest Pro to take a look at your heating system. Let me know how it goes.

The nest was installed when I bought the house. It’s only 2nd gen so no hot water controls on app.

If I put it on eco-mode then if I demand hot water (by turning on the tap), nothing happens.
If the heating is on and I demand hot water, no problem.

So my problem is when I want just hot water and no heating. I have to press the link box button to wake up the boiler, which turns the heating from Eco to On - which then sits at whatever temperature and usually starts the central heating.

I just want the nest to stay at eco and for me to be able to get hot water on demand! It’s driving me mad.

The controls on my boiler timer are set to continuously on.
