My Nest Thermostat continues to run even though the desired temperature has been achieved.

My home is new construction, insulated windows and roof, new HVAC system. I purchased the Google Nest Thermostat in 2022 and noticed that the HVAC system runs continuously even though the desired temperature has been achieved. Additionally, it takes very long to change temperature by 1 degree (4 hours). It doesn't seem to have an auto-cycle like other thermostats, which turn on about every 15/20 mins. This isn't energy-efficient at all. How can these issue be fixed?
