Nest app remove a device

I am using the Nest app and not the Google app for my Nest devices, cams and Thermostat.
I accidentally started another device add so it listed it on my Nest app. I need to remove it from the app but cannot find how to remove it.
Can I remove it on the Nest app?

In the Google Nest app, click on Settings for the device and scroll down to the bottom of the Settings; there should be a "Remove [device]" option in red.

I tried that but it advised it couldn’t be done, but said for me to go to the Google app.
Ok, went to the Google app and it was so busy with blah blah I could not find the Nest devices on the app. I’m pretty good tech wise, but still cannot locate on the Google app to delete the Home thermostat device. Help.

The Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E are the only devices I know of that get added in the Google Nest app but can be deleted in the Google Home app. We don't have a Nest thermostat of any kind, but when the Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E are added in the Google Nest app, they are supposed to get added automatically to the Google Home app.

However, over the past several months, many customers in this forum have reported this isn't happening, leaving the 2 apps out of sync. Many of those customers have reported using this workaround to fix the problem:

In the Google Nest app, create a new, temporary Google Nest "home/structure". Then go to that new, empty Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Home app and delete it. It seems crazy, but this apparently forces the 2 apps to sync and the thermostat appears in the Google Home app.

Perhaps you could try that, and then you'd be able to delete your thermostat in the Google Home app.

@beachbum62, I appreciate your efforts in trying to remove the structure. Deleting the Home structure would work in the Google Home app. Please try following the steps shared above and let us know how it goes.
