Nest 2nd gen Thermostat stuck on a black screen and green flashing light.

For some reason one of my nest thermostats - 2nd Gen - is stuck on a black screen with a green flashing light. I thought it was stuck in a reboot mode after a software update, so I unplugged the battery terminal and reconnected it. That saw it boot up, but it only lasted a week and is back to the same blacked screen and flashing light. The same process did not resolve the issue a second time around.

I have tried changing from USB, not change and also placing it on an equivalent, functional base of one of my other nest thermostats, still no change.

Ive tried holding it down for 10 seconds but that did nothing. Has anyone got any ideas? Has it got corrupted during an install?

I am having this same issue. Charging does nothing. Holding it down for 10 seconds (or more) does nothing. We checked the circuit breaker as well. The Nest Thermostat has worked perfect for 3 months, since we installed it and suddenly it stopped working in the middle of the night last night.

I finally got mine to work. I just had to find a good USB and plug to charge it and I did for about an hour and it started working again. The first USB cord I used wasn't charging it enough for some reason. I don't know what the deal was with that.

My screen is stuck on blank black screen. I need a replacement ASAP.
