topic Existing Thermostat Wiring in Nest Thermostats

I just moved into a new house and wanted to add a Nest thermostat. When I removed the cover of the existing thermostat the wiring was not listed on the compatibility sheet. Does anyone know if a Nest Thermostat will work with the existing system?

Hi Gkatmar,

Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. I appreciate you being interested in the Nest Thermostat. However, you have a high voltage system which isn't compatible with any Nest Thermostats. In some cases, it is possible to make a high voltage system Nest-compatible by contacting a local HVAC professional and have them install a step down transformer to 20 - 30 V. You can visit this link for your reference.

Best,

Jenelyn
