Hello,

Just moved into a brand new townhouse. House has a Honeywell TH2110DV1008 (https://imgbox.com/1Af7YvOa). I followed the instructions provided from Google with connecting my Nest Thermostat.

Wires included R,C,W,Y,G (photo): (https://imgbox.com/94Xa8R0e)

Nest Wired with Wires (photo): (https://imgbox.com/PLEsFbJS)

Cables Not Detected (photo): (https://imgbox.com/FFMQ7Yng)

Unfortunately I keep getting just the W and G wires not being detected, even though the Nest is running and it feels like the unit is getting cooler. Anyone have any ideas? I've already stripped the wire and tried to re seed it over 20 times at this point.

Hi FixMyNest,

Thanks for posting here in the Community. I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you, let me help you out. Since the wires configuration is correct on the base have you tried factory resetting the device and reconnecting it from the Google home app? Check out this link on how to factory reset your Nest thermostat.

@Womensaccessori, this is a proprietary system since the label on the wire is non standard. Here is a link to check the Nest thermostat compatibility.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks,

Edmond

Hello FixMyNest,

By any chance, do you have a voltmeter? Check if there is a voltage on the wires W and G. Here are the steps:

On most voltmeters, AC current is designated by VAC or V~.

1. Set the dial to 200 VAC.
If the multimeter doesn’t have a 200 setting, choose 100 or 250 VAC.
The general rule of thumb is: don’t set it too high (500+) or too low (50). Place the red lead on the R wire.
2. Place the black lead on the other wire being tested (W1, Y1, or C).
3. The normal readout should be somewhere between 20 and 30 V (24 V is most common).

Let me know if you have questions.

Best,
Edmond

Hi All,

I had the HVAC guys in the area drop in. Said if you get heat & cold you shouldn't worry about anything else. As such, I think this is one of those "leave it if it works".

Appreciate all the help from the community.
