(Blue wire) nest learning thermostat

I have a blue wire not connected to anything. I only noticed this because I lost connection from my phone to my nest thermostat. It was saying low battery.

Rc-red

Y1-yellow

g-green

W1- white.

Is the blue wire not being connected the reason my battery is going low? Should blue go to C?

Any thoughts how I can get battery charged and keep it charged ? I don’t want to have to take it off and use a cord to charge it.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

In most cases, the Blue wire is intended for the 24 volt Common. But to be sure, do you still have the photo of your old thermostat's wiring? If so, please share with us a clear photo so we can verify it. Also, gather the power readouts in the Technical Info settings for the blue wire currently installed in W2/Aux and when it was connected to the C terminal.
