Short cycling. The problem has been pinpointed to the Nest as everything with the unit is working fine. Drains are clear, filter is changed monthly and it’s clean, no ice buildup on pipes, condensate drain is dripping, coils outside were cleaned last month. In Florida. Temps 100+ daily. Just removed and reinstalled Nest from account in hopes that’ll work. If not, any tips? We’ve had several quick power failures recently due to summer storms.

Hi 949California,

Thanks for posting in the Google Nest Community forum. I appreciate all the steps you've already taken. E73 code meant for no power to RC wire. It shows that your Nest Thermostat detects the wire mechanically but not electrically. Please check your thermostat power readout by going to the Technical Info then power. Also, try to move the red wire from RC to RH terminal to isolate the issue.

Please follow this guide:

Ensure to turn off the power breaker before touching the wires.

Remove the red wire to the RC terminal.

Make sure to flatten and straighten the wire.

Insert the red wire to the RH terminal.

Check if the terminal tab is pressed down.

Ensure to turn the power back on.

Once done, restart your thermostat. Settings > Reset > Restart.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

The only fix was to uninstall the Nest Thermostat and reinstall in a new profile.
