Thermostat won’t restart and is blank

My Nest Generation 3 suddenly stopped working and went dead. It will not restart and all fuses and wiring have been checked. Wifi works fine on everything else. Can the internal battery be replaced?

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Please answer the following:

When did the issue first occur?
Is this a newly installed thermostat?
If the thermostat was recently installed: What is the make and model of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment?
Are the power breakers on, and do you receive power to your home?
Is the thermostat's display seated properly?
Are all the wires of your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?

Also, if still possible, please help us with the power readings of your Nest Learning Thermostat by going to its Settings > Technical Info > Power (Battery, VOC, VIN, and lIN).

I can’t get that info for you because I can’t restart the thermostat it’s dead. It was fine a week ago but now doesn’t work at all and it’s very warm

Hi there,

Thanks for getting back to us. Since your thermostat is not turning on at all, kindly get a micro-USB cable and a USB charger and use them to plug the thermostat’s display into a power outlet and leave it plugged in for an hour. After an hour of charging, put the thermostat display back to its base, and then let me know how it goes.

Plugged it in to a USB to recharge. Gave me a E74 error and now it’s dead again.
