Hi Jeet_NM,

Thanks for reaching out. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? You can visit this link to check what type of thermostat you have. Do you see any messages or codes on your thermostat or in the app? Just to confirm, is your HVAC system still running even if your thermostat is on its off mode? Try to remove your thermostat display and see what will happen to isolate the issue further.

Also, check your thermostat Energy History. It might help you see what your thermostat was doing previously. You can visit this support article on how to check Energy History in the thermostat or in the Nest app.

Best,

Hello, just had a brand new champion heating and cooling system. Installed in my home with my year old nest thermostat. Wiring is connected correctly and I have reset the thermostat back to factory defaults and re-confirmed the wiring. I checked all of the wiring connections and my HVAC professional said it must be a bug with the nest thermostat.

Thanks for the reply. This is a standard nest thermostat. I finally resolved the issue by contacting Google support. We disconnected the green wire, and the system still continued to run, which meant that the error was coming from the AC unit not the nest. We discovered the hot/ground was backwards and once corrected, fixed to the issue. Thanks again !
