A/C Keeps running after set temperature is reached

My A/C continues to run LONG after the set temperature is reached. I have it set to 75 and it has read that the room temperature is 75 all afternoon, but it has been running for a few hours. This keeps happening. The only way to turn it off is to turn off the unit completely or bump up the temperature.

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Let's sort this out.

Please turn on the power to your unit again, then remove the thermostat display from the base and wait about five minutes to check if your AC will stay on or shut off.

I may have solved the issue. I reset the thermostat (not a factory reset because I didn't want to lose all of my settings) and changed the filter. Since then, it has been running better.
