Can't edit many automation settings, confirmation button is covered by system icons

Whenever I try and edit any of the automation names or values, the confirmation button is buried behind the system wifi and battery icons. Screenshot of the problem  

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home App. Anyone run into this before and found a good fix for it?

We don't use automations, but this issue has been reported by several other users on this thread:

In the thread linked above someone found a temporary solution until Google fix the problem eventually - put phone into landscape mode then you can just about tap the bottom edge of the confirmation buttons stuck under the status bar
