I have a P8P phone and a zigbee open/close sensor connected to my network. No other smart devices. I am trying to set up a personal routine which will play a sound on my phone if the sensor changes state to open.
I've written a script which pushes a notification to my phone once sensor is opened and it works fine. Sensor is a starter for a routine from sunset to sunrise. However, I cannot get Home App to play music or whatever if a sensor is a starter. I can set it up, but it won't play because there is no speaker in my network. And there is no option to tell Home App to play a sound on my phone or select phone as a speaker device. Playing sound in my home while I'm away doesn't make much sense.
If I start a routine via Google Assistant telling it to arm home, I can play sound or announcement on my phone. The phone is already selected as "a device I speak to GA" or something like that.
I figured if I start the routine via GA, adding sensor as a secondary starter, it would be fine. Alas, no. As soon as I add sensor in in starters, my phone speaker is no longer an option and I get greeted with - no speakers in your home.
Does anyone know how to force announcement / playing sound on the phone if sensor is a starter?
