How do we set up the Google Home TV tile on a Google Pixel Watch 3 to control our compatible TV?
Using the Google Home app on a Pixel Watch 3 running Wear OS 5, I am able to open the app, see the devices in my home and control them, including the "TV" device (a Sony Bravia Android TV) - the Google Home app exposes On/Off, Volume and (on a second screen) Media controls (play/pause, skip fwd/back, volume.) So far this works great (for the limited functionality it offers. 🙄)
In addition to control through the Wear OS Home app, the Watch Android app (latest version 3.3.0.714022638) on my Pixel 7 phone (Android 15) offers a Watch Tile that is dedicated to TV control. When enabled, that TV tile appears in the correct order of tiles that are enabled on the watch.
But swiping to that watch tile shows only a the legend "TV" and message "Select a device to see controls". Pressing (Select) then shows the name of my home and the instructions "To see and control devices on your watch, set them up on your phone".
Pressing the (Open on phone) button causes the Google Home app (latest version 3.29.157.6) to start up on the phone. HOWEVER there are no further "set up" instructions in the Google Home app or indications of what next step is required in order to enable the TV tile on the phone to be activated and expose the TV controls. The Home app on the phone does not highlight the TV device on its own, and selecting the TV device's page in that app shows nothing new or unusual on the page related to the Tile or Watch.
What more needs to be done to "set them up" on the phone so that this tile can control the TV device?
