so i set a routine in the google home app but now i cant find it. i want to edit it but its not anywhere. i set the water sensor to turn the aircon off when the bottle is full but somehow i also set the alarm to make its noise and its too loud . it goes on too long too. so i want to edit that. i thought i had just disabled or turned it off but maybe i hid the routine. its baffling me where to find it and i keep having this issue. i dont have many routines set and pretty much dont know what i am doing. i set 2 ages ago and dont even remember doing them

I usually wait for the routine to trigger next and then look on the 'Activity' page or 'Your data in the Assistant' (Assistant Settings) to find the name of the automation that ran and then search alphabetically through my Automations.

I looked at the activity page and there's no events. the routine was just triggered . I have checked that a few times. I can't cabt find it under automations. a majority of the things in automations are more suggestions than actual things I set

Hi ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry to hear that you can't find the Routine you set in the Google Home app and that you want help editing it. I'm happy to assist you right now.

Thank you for your response

I recommend checking the automation icon in the Google Home app. To edit your Routine, please follow the steps below.

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Automations and select the Routine you want to edit.
  • Edit your Routine:
    • To edit a starter or an action: Tap it.
    • To add a voice command starter.
    • Tap Add starter When I say to Google Assistant.
    • To add a non-voice command starter.
    • Tap Add starter, a non-voice starter.
    • To add an action: Tap Add action.
  • Tap Save.

You can check the article if you want to learn more about how to Create and manage Routines in Google Home.

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Regards,

Gabriela

Hi ,

Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry to hear your issue is still not resolved and you can't find your Routine. I'm happy to continue assisting you.

To get a better understanding of the situation, please help me out by answering the following questions:

  • Did you try to create another Routine in the Google Home app?
  • Did you try to reset or restart the Water Sensor device?
  • Did you try to remove the device from the Google Home app and then add it back?
  • Did you check your Assistant Settings in the Google Home app?

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Regards,

Gabriela

oh thanks yes the sensor has been restarted many times because well I have to change the battery.  I havent made new routines. its so complicated to remove and re add things I avoid that. time consuming plus complicated. I dont know specifically which device you want me to remove. no I can't find Assistant settings in the home app. I might have an i found nothing that was a problem. I have gone round and round in circles in that app many times. its like a minefield

Hi ,

Thank you for your response. I appreciate your time to answer my questions. I'm sorry to hear your situation with the Automation is still not resolved. I'm happy to continue assisting you.

I recommend factory resetting the Water Sensor, then you have to remove it from the Google Home app, then set up the water sensor back in the app. After you do this process, you can Create a Personal Routine.

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Gabriela
