Existing Home App Group (Mini and 2x Chromecast Audio) - want to add speaker via phone's bluetooth

Hey team...  I have a Google Home Mini and two Google Chromecast Audios set up on my Google Home Android app (managed via wifi).  The Chromecast Audios are connected to independent speakers.  In the Google Home Android app, I have the three audio devices set up as a group.  Sometimes I Chromecast to the group and thrill to the "surround" sounds that the group enables.  Out of curiosity, I also have another speaker which is currently connected by Bluetooth to my Samsung android phone.  I'm not trying to substitute the Bluetooth speaker for any of the existing speakers.  I simply want to add it as a fourth sound device to the Google Home Android app group.

When I search the web for steps to add a Bluetooth speaker to my Google Home Android app, the results that I see are outdated... nothing aligns with the current version of Google Home Android app on my Samsung phone.  (Today, Nov. 27 2021, adding devices involves pressing the + sign on the top left of the Google Home Android app and everything -- prior to now -- points to Discover and Devices icons and those are gone.)

I have what is probably best described as a hub-less approach.  I have 30 devices all connected by wifi; the Google Home Android app lets me manage all of those connected devices...  but it does not enable the function of "tying in" a Bluetooth device that is connected to an android device in this hub-less network

I'm writing to ask if anyone has a similar setup and has discovered the steps that I might be overlooking?

Thanks!

Hey there,

That is a great question and not something that I've heard is very common, but I understand what you're looking for and I'm happy to help.

I found this article that has some information about speaker groups in it, but I don't think it has what you're looking for specifically.

Unfortunately from the information that I found, it doesn't seem like there is a way to do that, but I'm happy to take this feedback and pass it to our engineering and developers to see if this is a feature we can add in the future.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,
Garrett DS
