Globe Suite Lights Won't Work With Google Home App

Hello,

I have a lot of Globe Suite products around the house and I wanted them to work with google home and my Nest Hub. The lights worked great for a year but after that, they just wouldn't work from the app or my Nest Hub. When I go into the app it says offline even though they are working perfectly

Same issues with me - started around 1ish weeks ago.

  • Tried resetting router settings,
  • removing/adding account back from/to Globe suite
  • Ran in-app diagnostics which turn out fine (globe suite); the issue is on Google Home/smart integration
  • Attempted even language changes (Canada - swapping between English US and Canada with no success)
  • Unplugged and tried again as new device
  • Swapped with different smart plug (same model), no success. They all worked up to Xmas.

The only thing I can think of was when I switch to a new iPhone mid/late November I had forgotten to swap presence sensing ofF the old phone and the disconnect problem began shortly after I discovered. Meaning the Google home app allowed and connected fine with the smart switch when presence sensing was still on my old phone. However I don't believe that's related because these plugs have nothing to do with that.

Edit to add: I've had them also set up and working for approx 1 year too. Maybe Google is cutting it off?

Hi Smattchewww,

Thanks for your response. It's confusing why this won't work all of a sudden.

I will try all of your suggestions and see if that hopefully fixes it.

Thanks.

Updated just a minute ago: I uninstalled the Google Home app, unplugged and replugged (a few seconds delay), and suddenly it seems to be working!  Fingers crossed Google doesn't screw it up! 🤞

Edit to say I also obviously reinstalled the home app
