Up until a few weeks ago (late July), I was able to ask my assistant to "set my thermostat to eco mode" on any of the aforementioned devices and it worked just fine. I have 5 different assistant routines that have eco mode as one of the steps (like when I'm leaving the house) and they all worked without any problems.

But very recently, all my assistant devices respond to that request with "I don't understand". I finished a week long ordeal with support and everyone made it sound like I was crazy to think this ever worked typical

I'd really appreciate if someone could help me with this since setting the thermostat to eco mode has been one of our very common commands versus having to say set it between 50 and 90 each time.

On an unrelated note, it's also slightly frustrating that there's no voice command to turn on the thermostat fan for a few hours.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your Google Assistant issues! I can understand how frustrating that is. Let's work on this together.

Have you updated your thermostat's software? It's possible that due to the software update, Google Assistant needed to be reconnected. Unlinking and relinking your Nest thermostat to Google Assistant will ensure you’re able to to use features that are coming soon. If you don’t update, the connection will eventually stop working. Can you try to restart your thermostat, remove from Google Home, and then reinstall?

Let us know how it goes. I'm hopeful we can figure this out. 🙂

Your advice doesn't solve anything. Another user in my home can use the command but I cannot. It's possible another "works with Google" system is interfering with the command

I have this exact problem too. The reply from Google below is completely useless
