I spent another wasted hour on the phone, only to be told, "Sorry, uninstall your 65 devices, make a new home, and hopefully the ghost lights will go away." Case number 5-0514000039776---the email sent today was "this was fixed." UH, no, it is not.
1. After spending over an hour on the phone, only to be told to delete everything (more than 60 devices, including 40 Wi-Fi lights) and start over, it's incredibly frustrating and frankly lazy of Google Nest/Home app help, especially since this is YOUR app, not a third-party provider causing the problem. I wish I had gotten paid to tell customers. Sorry, figure it out yourself!
2. This "ghost" light (feit) issue only occurs on the Google HOME APP on Android phones and tablets. There is no problem with web.home or the NEST device. This suggests a coding issue with your Android Google HOME app.
3. Specifically, this is an issue with your app (Google Home) and the non-existent FEIT lights (no longer in the house), NOT the other way around.
4. Relinking FEIT, which does not display any products, to the GOOGLE HOME APP on the phone does not resolve this problem of "magically" causing the ghost lights to disappear.
I am very dissatisfied with the advice to delete everything and start over with 60 devices. This is especially true when detected lights happen constantly, and reconnecting them with the apps they use fixes them 100% of the time. There is no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater completely!
We (during that hour phone call) did make a new "home" on the app, and could NOT move the lights that say we are not the owner of (ha ha). I'm supposed to believe taking the better part of a day to re-install all of the devices to a new home because many can NOT be transferred, as the method Google suggests (moving them over to a new "home" is GREYED out).
Wow... nope.
Disappointing Google.
Here is my original Post, which has still gone unanswered: (from September of this year)
I have had no trouble trying to remove OLD feit lights. I have had to make several cases that Google Home reps have closed without fixing. I have looked at my accounts.com and the web app, where the lights from the 3rd party CAN NOT be found, and I reported this back, but Google reps are NOT reading. The devices that need to be UNLINKED can only be seen on the MOBILE app. They can not be seen on the WEB app, NOR the Nest Device that controls them (or did in the past). Refer to case numbers 5-7642000039475 and 5-051400003976 for everything that has been tried and failed to remove the third-party app. We have attempted multiple times to relink FEIT (which no longer has devices), but this has failed. The error states: You are not the owner, which both my husband and I receive. We are obviously the owners, and we notice that uninstalling the HOME app on the Samsung Android phones DOES NOT fix the issue either. Seems a higher-level Tier support is needed here. I am told to keep "submitting" feedback and forms. I did ask for a call, but none came. Tier 1/2 solutions do ot work. Any ideas?
