Google Home is unable to redirect to app

Hello,

I am trying to connect my Xiaomi Standing Fan 2 to Google Home so that I can use it with Ok Google, but the Home app seems to be unable to redirect back to the app.

The procedure I used is the following: Google Home -> Settings -> Works with Google -> Search for either Mi Home or Smartmi Family -> Follow instructions

The procedure hangs after I input the credentials, accept to link the apps and it just gives me a white page with a blue hyperlink at the top left saying "Return to app". The page's address is something like "oauth-redirect.googleusercontent .com"

Hey,

i fixed it by changing my default browser to chrome. The google home app then opens the authentication website on chrome. To make sure that it opens in chrome you can click on the three dots in the upper right corner, it then shows "Running in Chrome".  If it shows anything else you will have to uninstall that browser.
I had edge as my default browser and even after changing the default browser to chrome it still opened the authentication website in edge, so i had to uninstall edge and after that it worked.
