Google Home stating PIN is incorrect for garage door

I have a Genie's Aladdin Connect linked to my Google Home and the last couple of weeks when I ask Home to open or close the door it tells me my PIN is incorrect. It is not. I did not change it nor am I stating it in a different format than what has been successful for several months. I unlinked the account and set it back up with the same PIN and still it tells me the PIN is incorrect. It isn't. How does this get fixed?

After doing some digging on Reddit I found a solution.  Pins beginning with a zero, the zero is not registering.  So a pin of 0657 will work if you use pin '657' omitting the zero.

My system started doing the exact same thing last week. I have unlinked and relinked then synched and completely factory reset the Aladdin devices and synched. It is still doing it. I have not changed my pin.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. What Nest speaker or display do you own? Try the factory reset. This erases all your personalized settings and restores the factory default settings. It won’t automatically reconnect to WI-Fi, and you’ll need to set it up again. Check out this link for more information about it.

Regards,

Juni

I have four different Google nest speakers and it doesn't work that on any of them. Factory resetting four speakers doesn't seem like a reasonable or effective solution.

Hi cecampbell55,

I totally understand that troubleshooting can be frustrating, but these are the most helpful steps to figure out what's going on with your device. Let's give them a try. You can do it to just one Nest speaker and observe if it makes a difference.

Thanks,

Juni

It didn't make a difference. Now what?

This happened to me too. I have the alladin genie. In Google home, go to settings and unlink the garage door. Then relink it. It will ask for your genie login and password, and also a PIN. Use a different PIN. I tried my old one many times but it didn't work. New one did, and it works just fine. Good luck.

Your solution did not work. Unlinking Aladdin, relinking and changing the PIN resulted in the same error with Google Home telling me the PIN is incorrect. It isn't incorrect.

Hey folks,

Sorry for the delays. To confirm, are you able to control your garage door lock using the native app? How about the Google Assistant app on your phone? Have you tried calling Alladin support to check if they are getting similar reports?

Cheers,

Muddi

This worked for me! Thank you for sharing!
