Google home routines not working again

duglop

So once again Google is messed up and don't you dare tell me this is my problem because none of my Google home connections have worked at all this week this includes two different Vizio TVs this includes two different brands of lights, not only that but the audio from Google herself was staticky and broken up, Google messages were not working right, Gmail was not working right YouTube was not working right and I'm not just talking from my phone I'm talking from my computer as well, I saw other people at work have to close Chrome and switch to edge because Chrome wasn't working right. Not only that but I have a new phone everything is up to date everything's the correct firmware, but once again my routines are broken again everything was fine for the last we can have 2 weeks now once again nothing works right and here's the kicker new Google home layout same bull**bleep** Google problems... Un freaking believable... It's like a broken record there used to be a time when I had no problems for over 3 years literally had no problems I can't go three days without a problem now this is how bad Google is and I'm being nice about it...

Hi duglop,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delay. I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. A few questions: what Nest speaker are we working on? What message are you getting when the routine is not working? Is it a personal or household routine? Could you try to create the routine again and observe if it will make a difference?

Regards,

Juni

I gave up on Google a long time ago because **bleep** still isn't right okay your routines only work half the **bleep** time now I've done absolutely everything you guys have wanted me to do I've sent in hundreds of reports I've had phone calls I've had chat sessions I've had emails and not a **bleep** thing has changed problem after problem after problem I'm tired of it tell you what instead of asking me to do something why don't you ask Google to fix their bull**bleep**

I'm having this same issue on my Nest Audio. Until 4 days ago, my routines were working well at the set time. Now, no matter what I do, routines stop working. I've unplugged the device for up to 4 hours and nothing has changed. It was everything okay before, what happened?

Google, I now have 3 different brands of lights - ALL 3 were working perfectly over the weekend - tonight when I got home from work Google couldn't find ANY of them! Took 4 attempts for Google to find all 3 different brands! Google STILL doesn't control either of my Vizio TV's right like it did 4 years ago...

Instead of ignoring us, perhaps you should listen to us and get on you techs about these issues - it's been 4+ years and even the new layout didn't change a **bleep** thing!

Hi folks,

Pxsepulv, thanks for reaching out. Try to delete and re-create your routine and observe if it makes a difference.

duglop, we hear you — we can understand why you feel that way. These 3 lights—are you trying to control them via routines as well, or just a normal voice command? Does your Vizio have a built-in Chromecast or a plugged-in one?

Best,

Juni

Sir these are problems that I've been having for 3 years now the same problem okay... You've asked me this questions at least twice now then I'm going to tell you the same answer they used to work perfectly with no problem now they rarely work right at all. I have re set everything, I have uninstalled and reinstalled a dozen times. I have changed accounts. I have updated everything. My items will work one day and the next day they won't. As far as my TVs go these are 2 Vizio TVs with built-in Chromecast they worked perfectly for 2 years with Google, then 3 years ago Google did an update and it broke every freaking connection to everything in my account, and nothing has been right since then, nothing, I'm getting fed up with this for real. How many times do I have to repeat the same thing? As I said, instead of questioning us, why don't you question Google and tell them to do something about these 3 years old problems

And I'm going to repeat myself one last time all these broken routines are being caused by the presence sensing crap... I mean come on more than once my phone has said I am in Arizona and it's funny because I've never been there and I haven't left where I live for 3 years now so yeah, there's times when I'm home and presence sensing says I'm away there's times I am away and it says I'm home... your presence sensing crap is the problem with routines

Holy hell what the **bleep** have you guys done now there's a lot of functions that are suddenly no longer available according to Google what the **bleep** have you done this ruins routines and they're already not working right as it is Jesus Christ I'm switching to Alexa I'm **bleep**ing done with this absolutely **bleep**ing done with Google I suggest everybody else do the same

So not only is Google presence sensing is not working on routines at all but even when you say hey Google I'm leaving or I'm home, routines still aren't working... and before you ask, I just got done removing everything resetting everything adding everything removing everything adding everything again and it still don't work...

Routines are not working at all manually automatically or any way possible. I've tried to do it manually with moving the selector from home to away nothing happened. I verbally orally said hey Google and said I'm home and nothing happened. I said everybody's leaving and nothing happened. I then tried to do it automatically like the way it should work- I left my apartment went downtown came back nothing happened. What should have happened: my hall light, 1 living room light and a bedroom lamp were supposed to come on like usual. NOTHING HAPPENED! The app has not been updated since early August, the lights work when asking Google to turn them on or turning them on manually minus the routines, the lights are all updated the apps are all updated everything is updated. I uninstalled the app reinstall the app nothing happened. I installed the app with another account on a second phone and tried it but nothing happened. So personal routines are 100% broke.

Two straight weeks of the lights not working properly and I see they're doing something to the lights because they put that stupid color wheel back on which is never even close to accurate they had finally taken it off and they put it back on Google doesn't know what the hell they're doing plain and simple...

Hi duglop,

We hear you — we can understand why you feel that way. Let’s try to refresh your devices and observe if it makes a difference. First, reboot your Wi-Fi router, and once the network is back up, do the same thing to your Google Nest speakers and home automation devices.

Juni
