My Home app seems useless. I frequently have music playing on Nest devices, but it won't show me what's actually happening with my Nest devices.
E.G. I go into the Home app, and click the main Devices screen, it shows the volume at 80% and "playing" for a specific Nest device. I select the device the device, but on the device screen the volume is on 0%, and nothing is playing.
This happens all the time.
Uninstall the app doesn't fix it.
Reset the devices doesn't fix it.
It's nearly Useless!!!

Hi thedriver,
Thanks for reaching out to our community.
I’m sorry to hear that your Google Home app seems useless with your Google Nest devices, since it is not showing what’s really happening with your devices. Thank you for providing important details to better understand the experience that you are going through, as the one you mentioned in your example related to the volume. The Google Home app shows the volume at 80% and playing for a specific Nest device, but on the device screen the volume is at 0% and nothing is playing. I would be more than pleased to help you with this inconvenience, so don't worry.
Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:
Are you using the latest version of the Google Home app?
What mobile device are you using to set up your Google Home devices?
Is your mobile device up to date?
Could you please check if the saving mode of your mobile device is turned on?
Have there been any recent changes to your home environment?
Have you changed your internet service provider, or did you receive any internet updates?
Have there been recent outages?
Could you please double-check if your Google Nest devices and your mobile phone are connected to the same WiFi network?
Can you describe the status of the 4 LED lights on your Google Nest devices? (Please refer to this article for reference: Google Nest and Google Home device LED lights.)
Are you having the same inconvenience with all your Google Home devices?
Could you tell me if the Google Home assistant is responding to your requests (or commands) on your Google Home devices?
Have you tried to reboot the Google Nest speaker that is disconnecting?
Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Virna
