How do I get the camera talk function to work on Samsung phone? Newest Doorbell & indoor cam

How do I get the camera's talk back function to work on Samsung phone? I hear the video audio but can't hear me on camera. This is true for my indoor nest camera and my brand new nest doorbell (one that was released 48hrs ago). It looks to be isolated to by note9 and my wife's S9. Used the nest app & Google home app

Same problem here with Samsung galaxy s10.

Also same for my wifes Samsung galaxy s10e. Not audiable at all from the new nest doorbell speaker unless you skream 1mm from the microphone on the phone.

Hey folks,

 

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely collect this feedback and send it forward. I haven't yet heard about this issue being connected to only Samsung devices, but I will collect this information for sure. In the meantime, restart the devices, power cycle them, make sure that all their firmware is up to date. Please let me know if you need anything further.

Ditto - when I speak through the Nest or Home app there is no sound from the wired doorbell, Nest Cam (outdoor or Indoor), nest indoor camera and using a Samsung S20+

I can hear the cameras but not speak through them

However, I logged in to the Nest website (home.nest.com) and the talk function appears to work. 

So it appears to be a compatibility issue with Samsung..there was some other mentions of this issue in 2020 that i had come across https://support.google.com/googlenest/thread/64577589/when-is-google-nest-going-to-fix-the-microphon....

So saying 'I haven't yet heard about this issue being connected to only Samsung devices' isn't quite correct....

Thank you @bradbort for reaching out. I have tried all those steps on both cameras and both phones.

 

Thank you @MTKEIRE for describing the problem so well. That is exactly what is happening. From my quick Google search, I found others with Samsung phones that had the same issue. The closest thing I got to an answer was someone tried to blame the type of mic on the Samsung phone. But for any actual answer the specialist switches it to private message and closes it for any further posts.

 

Hopefully we might get better clarification this time. Especially for the brand new doorbell, it is important to have this feature. I've already ran into issues communicating to the person at the door and the 3 non-customizable quick responses doesn't cover most situations.

@Buzz ...I saw the blame on the type of mic...clearly not the issue as I logged in from the phone...so same mic, just via the web...so app issue or a setting issue on the phone...

I have gone through all possible mic settings on the phone, even activating permissions on other vaguely similar apps, but no joy.... so must be the app ....

I have the brand new outdoor battery camera and same issue....

Yep saw the way it was been shut down and moved off line....dont see why they would be doing that...
