I cannot turn the volume off when watching my nest cameras in the google home app for iOS.

There's a bug in the Google Home app. When I mute the volume in my iPhone the Google Home app automatically turns it up again when I live view my Nest Cameras.

Can you please fix it ASAP. This is a MAYOR problem.

Hey there,


Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

I did and they did not help. You did not address the issue at all. It does not even appear that you understood what I meant according to the reply I got.

The problem is that the HOME app turns the volume up automatically when I want to check the live feed of a nest camera. Even if I turn the volume off completely it automatically goes up again.

Have you checked your phone settings with how your volume interacts with media? I would suggest checking out those settings as well. I would invite you to submit your experience and feedback in the app.

Hmm there’s nothing obvious. Anything I should be looking at? I have an iPhone 14 pro running iOS 16.2

When you are in the app viewing an event, for example, are you able to adjust the volume with the up and down controls on the side of your phone? I am wondering if that is higher than it should be. Also, I think that support would also be of great help to you with this inquiry. Please fill out this form, and a higher tier of support will reach out to you.

Exactly, When I do what you suggest, turn all the way down, it automatically turns it up again.
