Hi
I have a new ISP so am going through all my google devices to change the WiFi settings.
There are 4 Chromecasts in the house. They've all disappeared from the Google Home app so can't be factory reset that way.
A google assistant told me how to reset by pressing the button on the Chromecast and then unplugging it for a minute. Doing this gets me about 3/4 of the way through the set up process then I get an error.
I'm also having issues with DNS when I do a google search and then click on the link to open the page I want to navigate to, I get a DNS server error. I did ask a google assistant for help and was given a complicated answer which scrambled by brain so I left it and when I tried to come back to the conversation, I had to click on a link in an email...which gave me the same DNS error.
My partner is connected to the same WiFi account and is not having any DNS issues.
Please help...with easy to understand information.
Thanks

First, let's address the issue with your Chromecasts. Since they have disappeared from the Google Home app, you can try resetting them manually. To do this, press the button on the Chromecast for at least 25 seconds until the indicator light blinks orange. Then unplug the Chromecast for a minute before plugging it back in. This should reset the device and allow you to set it up again.
As for the DNS issues, it seems like it may be specific to your device. First, try restarting your device and router to see if that resolves the issue. If not, you can try changing the DNS settings on your device. Go to your device's network settings, and manually input a different DNS server address, such as Google's public DNS (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4).
If the issue persists, you may want to check with your ISP to see if there are any known DNS issues in your area. I hope this helps resolve your issues with the Chromecasts and DNS errors. Let me know if you need further assistance.
