I tried to login my nest app through Google account, but it's going in an endless loop. Pls advise.

I tried to sign in the Nest App on my iPhone but it keeps going in a loop of choosing my Google account then back to the sign in page. I tried to reset the password at Nest.com with my Gmail address, the the resetting email never arrived even if I tried multiple times. I want to sign up the promotion of my local utility company for energy saving with smart thermostats, but I can't go through the account login, despite the Google home app is working with my two nest thermostats.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having some login issues with the Nest app! I understand how confusing it can be when the app doesn't do what it's supposed to. However, I'd be happy to help you fix it! I'll just need to ask a few questions to better understand the situation:

 

Is your iPhone and Nest app up-to-date?

Did you already have a Nest account made, or are you making a new Nest account?

If you already had a Nest account, were you able to sign in through the app before?

Are you connected to the Wi-Fi or cellular data when this issue happens?

 

For now, I would check the following steps:

  • Verify your phone's Date and Time settings are correct and automatically set.
  • Confirm that the Nest and Google Home app has permissions to use your phone's location.
  • Check the ‎Apple Store for Nest or Google Home app updates.
  • Check for any pending iOS updates.

I am getting into the loop as well where I confirm its me and then in the nest ap it says "Something went wrong".

  • Verify your phone's Date and Time settings are correct and automatically set. -- Yes 
  • Confirm that the Nest and Google Home app has permissions to use your phone's location. -- Always Allow
  • Check the ‎Apple Store for Nest or Google Home app updates. -- All up to date
  • Check for any pending iOS updates. -- All up to date.

Just tried another verification method, as text versus through the google app and that work, so I am signed in.
