Mini assistant does not connect after the home router was replaced

ArixonM

My mini assistant has been connected to my home Wi-Fi network for years. After replacing the router, it is disconnected. During the connection process, right after entering the WiFi password, I get this message on my Android phone: "This device was previously configured by another user. The device must be reset to the original setting
I don't understand this message and nothing has changed on my phone where the Home App is installed.
Help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The "other user" referred to in the message is you, on your old Wi-Fi network.

Since Google Nest does not make it easy to update Wi-Fi settings on its devices, their first recommendation is to set the network name (SSID) and password on your new router/modem to the same values used on your old router/modem. That's what we did, and we didn't have to do anything to our Google Nest devices.

If you can't do that, did you follow Google Nest's instructions for updating your Nest Mini?

While on your old Wi-Fi network, did you select your Nest Mini in the Google Home app, select Settings | Device information | Wi-Fi | Forget This Network, and then reinstall your Nest Mini on your new Wi-Fi network?

If you didn't do that, then you'll need to do a factory reset:
