Nest thermostat account issues

skipdmsi
Community Member

I have 2 nest accounts for 2 homes ( control4 wouldn’t work if all stats on one account) To change homes I have to log out of one nest account than back in using the other email.
How do I get both accounts on my iPhone - going to Google confused my control4 app. Also, control4 (2 different logins) for both homes can control nest.

poc ?

Hi @skipdmsi!

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry you're having trouble checking your devices into the same account, but no need to worry; help is here. I am aware that you have two different accounts for your Nest devices. The best option is to pair all your devices in the same account. I need to know a few things in order to provide you with a better resolution.

  • What Nest thermostat model do you have? For your reference, you can check out this article on how to tell which Nest thermostat you have.
  • How many Nest devices do you have?
  • What are the Nest devices that you have?
  • Do you have an existing non-migrated Nest account?

I'll be waiting for your response; any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Best regards,

Jeremy.

I have home 1 with a single (3rd. gen) nest stat & home 2 with
3 ( 3rd. gen) nest stats and 4 nest protects. All where migrated to
Google home. Both homes have Control4 accounts linked to the stats
so I can see them. I like the nest account setup and was using them
to also monitor 2 other homes (my kids) with 3 (3rd gen) nest stats,
but my control4 got confused and would not monitor them.

I tried to set up my 2 homes with Google home, but I am not able to
get the wifi devices in the correct home - i tried to delete the home but
Google did not 'drop' the devices.

Thanks,
Skip D

Hi @skipdmsi!

Thank you for keeping me updated. I understand that you want to have your Nest devices working with Control4. Now let's try the steps below.

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • If you have more than one home, tap Favorites.
  • At the top, select the home you want to edit.
  • Tap settings > Add + > Home member.
  • Enter the name or email address of the person you want to invite to your home.
  • Tap Next.
    • The person you invite should receive an email with instructions.
  • Tap Next.
    • Review the person’s access to your home.
  • Tap Send.
  • If your Google Family Group isn’t full and the person you’re inviting isn’t already in one, you should get the option to invite them to your Google Family Group.
    • To invite them, tap Add to Family.
    • To skip this step, tap No Thanks.

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Regards,

Jeremy.

Jeremy,

The main issue is that Google home has missed up my devices between homes & will NOT let me remove / delete them.  I did have 2 homes setup. How can I remove all devices and start from the beginning? I even tried to unlink from Control4 - will not let me remove them.

Thanks,
