New Phone but Google Nest only recognizing old phone. How to update?

I can't seem to figure it out in Home app.  It's about as frustrating as recognizing new wifi device ( something that took me 6 hours to fix )

 

I only realized the problem when I misplaced my phone and Google said it was going to contact my old phone.

 

New phone is Samsung Galaxy S20 FE

Old phone was Samsung Galaxy 10

Thank you for this post. I'm so sorry you are having this issue. I can imagine how frustrating it is. I'd be more than happy to help though.

So I do have a couple of idea's that may help. But before I do I have a couple of questions.

  • Is your new device on the same network as your other smart devices?
  • Are you logged into the same google account on your new mobile device?

Okay, I do have an idea if you haven't tried already. Could you try to reinstall an app? I believe if the answer to my two questions are yes, this would be the nest best option.
