No Entry Key on my Nest thermostat

WisJim

I am attempting to add my Nest thermostat to my phone app and I cannot access an Entry ey.  When I go on the thermostat and go to settings and then the Nest App screen,  there is nothing there to choose from and steps on the display to help me locate the entry key.

I haven't gotten any response to my problem and still have the problem.  The Nest thermostat is worse than useless to us the way it is working now.  We moved into a house with an existing NEST thermostat and have no password or any other information about it, and it keeps resetting the temperature in the house.

Also, both of the responses above from Jake showed in my mailbox at the same time, just now.  And when I replied through Jake's message I got a response saying that the email address couldn't be found.

Hello folks,,

I know it has been a while, but I wanted to ensure that everything was covered here.

I appreciate your help here, Jake.

@WisJim, how's it going? Have you managed to add your Nest Thermostat to the app? Try the Account Connection reset in the Reset settings to generate the code. Your thermostat might still be connected to an account, which is why you can't see any codes. Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Mark

Hey WisJim,

In addition to what I mentioned above, please check the Nest App settings on your actual thermostat if it shows "Connected to an Account". If so, please do the steps I suggested, so once it's disconnected from the existing account, you can proceed with adding it to a new account. Please keep us posted if you need more help.

Best,
Mark
