Resolution on Thermostat heating history

I have a baby sitter who goes into my home during holidays and after school before we get home from work. I do tell them if you're cold put the thermostat up but I wanted to check on when and what temperature they put it up to. But on the App (iPhone, iPad) and even the nest web page the resolution on this view is terrible. Does any one know how to improve this or download .txt data for the history?

You can request a Nest data download from google that includes thermometer data but, based on my experience, it's a lot of work and barely worth it.

I did that a couple of weeks ago and the data analysis took me many, many hours (though it'd take much less if you're a database or programming guru). My data turned out to be pretty poor quality, with clearly incorrect data on about 1/3 of the days.

It was an interesting exercise but I've not I learnt a right lot apart from how to program in Python (which, admittedly, felt great!).

Alright Steve, I do work for a technology company with a lot of colleagues versed in Python so someone might take my challenge on 🤭

appreciate the reply!

Well, if you do go ahead, I'm happy to share what I found about the data structure and where the most useful variables were for me.

Hey jayhiggins,

I wanted to check in and see if you had any questions from here. Please let me know, as I would be happy to assist, and answer any you may have.

Thanks for the helpful reply AberangSteve.

Hi Jake, thanks for taking the time to offer additional. If you can put forward improvement suggestions for the App or help in any other way to my above query then it would be appreciated. If not, no worries - however, the issue doesn’t go away once replies stop on this thread, the numbers are still not viewable if theyre overlapped - and Steve has eluded to the fact that the Thermostat data requires a computer programmer to interpret/organise.

Not a big deal just something I’ll have to live with.

Thanks to both! 🙂
