Setup/Questions

I have two issues/questions:

  1. I've been using my Google Home Nest Hub and app for several years and have always liked it.  I've suddenly got an issue with one TV.  I have a Samsung TV with a Roku streaming stick, Google Home is on Samsung Galaxy S24.  I used to be able to ask Google to turn on, off, pause, etc. this TV.  It suddenly stopped working and I have no idea.  I've tried everyting I could find in this forum plus others I've thought of and it's still not working:  Uninstalled Google Home app, deleted cache and data, unlinked Roku, reconnected Roku.  I've spent hours on this and I'm at a loss of what to try next.
  2. I would like to organize my Google Home app by where things are.  i.e. Instead of my 5 WeMo accounts being in different rooms I'd like to access them in one "room" called "WeMo".  Same with my TV's instead of 5 TVs in 5 different rooms, all TV's in one room called "TVs".  Is it possible to do this?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Please ignore question #2, it works just as I want.  Didn't work the first time and I don't know what I did wrong, probably something really silly!! 🙂

Hey mjngltn,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I understand Google Home has stopped controlling a Roku streaming stick that's connected to your TV. You used to be able to control it with your Google Home. It can be frustrating when something that used to work flawlessly just stops. It's a pleasure to share more information.

I appreciate your effort and time in performing the troubleshooting steps previously described. In this situation, I recommend contacting the Roku support team directly. They should be able to provide the most accurate information and tailored troubleshooting steps to get things working as you expect.

Best regards,

Daniel
